Anterior chin bone sliding mobilization

Osseous genioplasties may require different kind of osteotomies which are controlled bone fractures under precision power oscillating saw action, in order to reshape and resize the chin.

Once the osteotomies are made the chin fragment can be mobilized anteriorly when the osseous fracture is horizontal, and when it is by means of an oblique or diagonal osteotomy the chin can be moved forwardly plus upwardly, in either case can be also downsized or augmented.

It is carried out by an intra oral incision near the gum and inside the mouth, allowing the detachment of soft tissues and chin bone exposure.
